The Ventrillo Page

Ventrillo is a program where you can talk to different users using your microphone. It is a free program that can be downloaded for both mac and windows. A server is used to communicate with the client, and a hotkey is used to talk. As of September 19, 2009, the Jared Rimer Network has one such server. The server is provided by Instant Ventrillo. This is a company who has helped me with making sure my server was working right, and the support is excellent, although you do not get phone support. They offer great E-mail turn around time of 15 minutes in most cases. Don't be surprised if it can take up to an hour. One of the Internet Radio Stations I broadcast for uses this company and there have been minimal problems.

Rules of the Ventrillo Server

The rules are quite simple and straightforward. I do have a couple of admins that are helping me since i'm not always around. Please keep these rules in mind when connecting to our servers.

1. The Jared Rimer network will not tolerate harassment, or any other illegal activity. An admin may decide to warn you by voice, text, etc. If you continue to do so, the admin may decide to kick you, and if it continues, a ban will be placed.
2. All server admins are allowed in the adults channel. This is to make sure that things don't get too out of hand

3. Have fun!! We want this to be a fun place for everyone.

Connecting to the Jared Rimer Network

The nice thing about Instant Ventrillo is they supply a web site applet that will show who's on if any. This is so you don't connect and find nobody on. But, I've also supplied a connection link for you to connect. This will automatically put our server in your server list, and you will connect with your default or selected username you set up in Ventrillo.

Downloading Ventrillo

If you do not have Ventrillo, you can get it from the Ventrilo Download Page. There is no way we can provide the direct file, as there are different versions for different operating systems, so you'll need to go there to get it.

Setup instructions

The setup is very easy. When first launching the program, there's a user name item. There is a button that you will press space bar on and you'll add a username. You'll create a new username. By default, our server does not require a password, so you don't need to put one in. When clicking on our connection link, the server will be added with our server information filled in.
